A close look at Beijing Enamel Factory, where for over 60 years, they have been producing some of the world’s finest examples of Chinese Cloisonné. Even the smallest of pots takes over four weeks to complete and requires the completion of seven individual processes, each one carried out by hand by a different person and so this film is a testament to those people who have dedicated their lives to this craft.
With no voiceover and minimal text, this film simply invites the viewer to engage with and experience the beauty of ‘the process' on their own terms. To accompany the film, I have composed an immersive soundscape consisting of a blend of ‘found sounds’ and synthesis.
