A recent visit to Eden Camp , a modern history museum on the site of a former WW2 prisoner of war camp near Pickering, North Yorkshire.
Here we take a walk through one of the original buildings that gives the visitor a taste of the London blitz in 1940-1941 .
This video doesn't do it justice as the experience even includes the smells!

I highly recommend a visit for the full 1940's experience.
