1997: ITN Newsflash: Princess Diana Injured in Paris Car Crash

To commemorate the Princess of Wales on the 25th anniversary of her passing, ITN Archive is presenting a series of clips covering her years of public service between 1980 and 1997.

In the early hours of the morning, ITN interrupted the broadcast schedule to announce that Diana, the Princess of Wales had suffered severe injuries in a car accident in Paris.

Within ten minutes of beginning the broadcast, a French minister had confirmed on the radio that Diana had died at Paris' Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital.
