Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Dometic Penguin II high efficiency 11,000 BTU black RV air conditioner. Now this air conditioner unit will let you replace, upgrade, or add a new Dometic Penguin II air conditioner to your RV or camper. The ultra low profile design is going to help minimize wind resistance to help improve fuel efficiency and overhead clearance. This 11,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to quickly and efficiently cool down the inside of your RV or camper.

Now this is going to be compatible with ducted and ductless systems. This is designed for motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. But I do wanna let you know that this air conditioner has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers, or off-roading vehicles, because typically the roofs of those types of vehicles or trailers aren't built with the support needed to handle the weight of an air conditioner system, or there might be too much flex in that roof that could potentially damage the air conditioner unit while you're going down the road. Now this is going to be a bolt-on installation, but hardware is not included with this. And you will also need a manual air distribution box, which is sold separately.

But take a look at the related product section on this product page to look at what we have to offer in regards to manual air distribution boxes that are compatible with this unit. So this is going to fit roofs from one and a half inches to six inches thick, with an opening size of 14, 14 and a quarter inches long, and 14 and a quarter inches wide. Speaking of measurements, taking a look at just the overall measurements, looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting at about 40 and a half inches long. The overall width at the widest point, about 28 inches wide. Then the overall height is gonna be about 11 and a quarter inches tall.

This weighs about 90 pounds or so. Now what I did before our time together is I removed the screws from the cover here, so I could go ahead and more easily and quickly remove it. So let me go ahead and just pop this cover off, and I'm gonna set this to the side, and I just wanna kind of give you a view of the inside. So let me go ahead and rotate it here, just so you can take a look at the inside from that particular angle. Now, as you can see, we do have these foam seals here that are going to help prevent heat transfer, and I wanna give you an overhead look as well.

Let me line that up there a little bit better so you can see. So this air conditioner features a high performance motor and fan that will provide sufficient air flow for you. The enhanced cooling performance is going to evenly distribute cool air throughout your RV to help eliminate hotspots, and the quiet operation is going to ensure a more peaceful atmosphere than most of your traditional air conditioner units, and the efficient design is going to require less refrigerant than your traditional air conditioner units, reducing operational costs. And this does use the refrigerant of R-410A, and so let me go ahead and replace this cover. By the way, this cover is hard plastic, (knocks on plastic) so I think it's gonna hold up pretty well. There's other air conditioner units that I have reviewed in the past, and the covers sometimes will seem kind of flimsy, like they're not gonna hold up real well. This isn't the case. I think this is a pretty thick piece of plastic, so I think it's gonna hold up well. It's gonna do a great job of protecting the inside components from debris and water and things like that. This is held together by four Phillips screws, so the screws are gonna be easy to remove and replace. So if you need to do any maintenance, you need to do any cleaning, it's not gonna be a difficult task at all to remove the cover. So let me go ahead and go just for a slightly lower view here. I wanted to show you that this does feature a metal base pan here that's going to give you stability. It's gonna help reduce vibration. It includes a wiring harness that I have tucked up here in the front. Let me see if I can pull that out there so you can see. So I wanted to give you a good view of the connection point there. And then we do have foam pads here at the bottom, so you're gonna have padding in between the roof of your RV and th
