These guitars have a reputation and legend that is well-known and respected. They were made by the Fujigen guitar company, under contract with Fender and raised the eyebrows of Fender at the time, when the quality was as good, or even better, than the Fender instruments being produced at the time. This started in 1982 with the “JV” series guitars and then led into the 1983/84 “SQ” serialed guitars.

CST simply stands for "Current Stratocasters" and were copies of the guitars available in the USA at the time. 3 bolt necks, bullet trussrods & large headstocks were the Strats of the day & this is a copy of one of those guitars. The CST-55 was the top of this range & is fitted with "hotter" SQ5 "Hotrod" pickups
