From the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Dec 20, 1990 comes this rematch of the past season's classic NCAA match-up. However this time around the LMU Lions would come into the game without both Hank Gathers (Who had tragically passed on only a few months before.), Bo Kimble (Who had left for the NBA Draft.) and their former coach Paul Westhead (Who had been unfairly forced out of his position at the school after the controversy surrounding the death of Gathers.) LSU wouldn't come into this one unscaved either though after the loss of both Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts to the pros. However the big difference would be the Tigers still had the talents of one Shaquille O'Neal and that would be plenty enough of an edge in this one. That being said though, the Lions high paced run and gun attack was still in effect and with the Tigers electing to run the ball right back at them this one quickly turned into yet another classic. No it's not as good as the original but It still makes for one hell of a fun watch though.
