Discrete 8 - Control Panel Basics

This video will quickly guide you through the set up process of your brand new Discrete 8 audio interface from Antelope Audio. Learn the basics of the intuitive Discrete 8 control panel.

After you have downloaded and installed the Antelope Audio Driver and have activated and assigned your device, start the Antelope launcher and click on the Discrete icon to launch its control panel.

It will take you no time to get to know how the audio signal flows. On the very top of the panel you can see the clock source, sample rate and session controls including the save and load functions. Next, you have the Preamp section where you can control each of the preamps. Note that by default: COMPUTER play channels 1 and 2 are your main DAW outputs.

Then we have the mixers section for each set of outputs – Headphones and Monitors. On the main screen you can select between an 8-channel or a 32-channel mixer and access controls for each channel.

On the top right corner is the Settings section. Here you can adjust features as Trim-Levels, Talkback Microphone assignment, Tone Oscillator settings as well as Buffer and Latency controls.

Press the “info” button to access the information about your device plus the administration panel. Here is where you assign or unassign other Antelope Audio devices and features such as the Premium FX package.
