This week we are in Trinity Newfoundland to go Whale Watching!! This was a highlight of our adventure in Newfoundland for sure!!
Newfoundland has the LARGEST population of feeding humpbacks in the WORLD!! They are playful and curious and amazing creatures that we are fortunate enough to get up close and personal with!!
After that, we head to Dildo, yes Newfoundland has some of the CRAZIEST town names and Dildo, Newfoundland put this island in Canada on the map when Jimmy Kimmel fell in love with the town and its name. Now with a Hollywood sign perched proudly on the hill looking over the small town, Dildo has really made a name for itself!
Finally we head to a remote corner of Newfoundland - the most southerly point, to see the Cape Race Lighthouse! This gem was installed on this remote tip of land along the rugged Newfoundland Coast in 1907!!! Getting there is part of the journey, because the landscape out there was so unique. The fog was thick and the night was moody and we spent one incredibly Newfoundland-ish night on this point in the fog....watching the lighthouse with its mesmerizing beams and listening to the deep and loud blow of the foghorn through the night. A truly unique experience.
