Toccata on Aberystwyth - Christopher Maxim [Johannus LiVE III AGO]

Описание к видео Toccata on Aberystwyth - Christopher Maxim [Johannus LiVE III AGO]

The hymn tune "Aberystwyth" is often sung to the Lenten hymn "Jesu, lover of my soul" and is here used as the basis for a stunning toccata, albeit one which fulfils the composition brief of being accessible to organists able to play around Grade 6 standard. This piece is included in the first volume of Sortie Sorted, published by @ChurchOrganWorld. To order, click this link:

It is played on a Johannus Live III AGO organ, using the sample of the Cavaillé-Coll organ in Église Notre-Dame d'Auteuil, Paris. The sample sets can be heard from four positions: console, front of the church, centre of the church, rear of the church. This recording uses the rear of the church position.
