Hieronymus or Jheronimus Bosch was a Dutch painter from Brabant. He is one of the most notable representatives of the Early Netherlandish painting school. His work, generally oil on oak wood, mainly contains fantastic illustrations of religious concepts and narratives. Within his lifetime his work was collected in the Netherlands, Austria, and Spain, and widely copied, especially his macabre and nightmarish depictions of hell.

The Hieronymus Bosch sailing route on the Binnendieze is entirely dedicated to the famous painter Hieronymus Bosch.
You depart from the Zuidwal/Oude Dieze jetty and first sail partly under the city. The whisper boat then takes you through the Hellegat: exciting, dark and narrow. If you suffer from claustrophobia, it is better to choose a different sailing route. In this Hellegat you will see a beautiful light show in which figures from paintings by Hieronymus Bosch are spectacularly displayed on the vaults. An absolutely unique experience!
During the boat trip of approximately one and a half hours, you will encounter images from the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch along the route.

The Jheronimus Bosch Art Center is an international knowledge and experience centre it is a unique tribute to the artist Jheronimus Bosch, who was born around 1450 and died in 's-Hertogenbosch in 1516.
