These were shown at Toy Fair and I completely forgot they existed until I seen them at TRU yesterday. These are part of the Build and Morph Sets, a figure and zord set that you put together like a very simplistic model kit. Construction took me about 10 minutes, and it's not difficult to do if you can follow picture instructions. Each set retails for $18.99 at Toys R Us, and are probably going to be cheaper at other major retailers. The parts are attached to a cardboard insert via a blister bubble. While it may seem like a daunting task at first, putting it together is no problem at all. The figure has simplistic articulation, but features a single knee and elbow joint, a ball-socket hip and shoulder joints, and a simple rotation at the neck. The Zord is...odd. Each Zord has three ways to play: Emblem, Zord, and Vehicle. The Emblem Mode is a fairly accurate (at least from the front) to the ones from the show/Shinkenoh. This is at least a way to get some Emblem Modes from the US toy line, but it's not perfect by any means. Switch around some parts and you get the Zord Mode. It's a bit stylized in some areas, but both of them are pretty accurate and fun to play with it. The Vehicle Modes are pretty interesting. The LionZord turns into a "jet" which is just a flying box. The DragonZord turns into a pretty neat motorcycle. While the LionZord isn't that great, the DragonZord vehicle isn't that bad. The figures are a hair shorter than the normal 4" figures, but the 4" figures can use these vehicles if you really wanted them to. These are pretty fun toys for kids or adults who are addicted to building toys. Outside of that, it's hard to recommend these when the Samurai MegaZord and the 4" figures exist. The Vehicle Modes are kinda neat if you like them, and the Emblem Modes are a nice addiction that the Samurai MegaZord was lacking. No idea if Bandai plans on releasing any others in this style, so only time will tell. Recommended if they interest you, otherwise just leave them on the shelf.
