EFF leader Julius Malema has taken over the party's governance task unit, which was headed by former deputy Floyd Shivambu.

Malema gave an impassioned address to party supporters in Soweto last night, marking his first public speech since Shivambu crossed the floor to the to MK Party.

The red beret leader has thrown down the gauntlet to his detractors, challenging those who want to leave the party, to do so immediately.

Without mentioning his name directly, Malema also called on the party to get rid of anything that represents Floyd Shivambu.
