Dennis Hopper walked around the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, with a female companion. When asked by a journalist on his thoughts about the death of Heath Ledger he said "Yeah, it's a tragedy." Hopper was wrapped up warm for the freezing conditions in a flat cap, leather gloves, scarf and leather jacket. He later had a big smile on his face and said how can you not enjoy the Sundance Film Festival and at one point almost broke into song when asked by a photographer to smile.
