On PayPal regular signup page / you will be asked to create personal or business account. Business account needs business registration verification. That is real business account.

In PayPal Sandbox Account, PayPal Personal Account holder can create more sandbox accounts and in sandbox, multiple accounts can be created including personal and business accounts for testing purposes.

When you create a sandbox account, you have a choice to create a personal or business sandbox account,
you can create multiple of these. You also get two default accounts with sandbox, one personal account and one business account.

You don't need to create separate PayPal sandbox account. Any real PayPal account (business or personal) can access sandbox account for PayPal. So if you are a web developer and you need a PayPal sandbox account, just create a personal PayPal account and you can access PayPal sandbox account and use PayPal sandbox account.

In my previous video I mentioned how to create and use PayPal sandbox accounts. We paid for services and products by using PayPal sandbox account to test payment process. Sandbox part is clear but PayPal account types part is what we need to focus on some more. There are two types of PayPal accounts. e.g. Business account and personal account. A business account can accept payments as a provider, seller or merchant. A personal account can send or receive money and make payments. But a personal account can not receive payments from customers by using a website with PayPal integration.

As a developer, you will have to link website with payment gateways so that your client can accept payments from his customers. When you will be working on client's website and integrating payment gateways, you will need a PayPal account to test payments processing. As a web developer you don't need to ask client to share his PayPal account credentials.

If you have a personal PayPal account, you can log in to paypal developer's account and generate sandbox accounts that include business paypal accounts and personal paypal accounts. You can use those accounts to test payments. But when you are done testing, you will ask client to provide you API username, password and signature from his real business account - to setup payment gateway's live environment.

PayPal Business Account, provides API credentials, that we use in PayPal plugin settings. When we test payments, PayPal will ask you to login. There, we use username and password from PayPal personal account from sandbox accounts. Same Business account that provided API credentials can also work to test payments while paying for services. To test payments in sandbox mode, you can use personal or business PayPal account from sandbox. Both can work. But it does not mean both will work in all cases.

You may also get this message like: "You are logging into the account of the seller for this purchase. Please change your login information and try again."

In this case, you need to use personal sandbox account to test payment processing. But it may not be the case because you may be logged in already with your real PayPal account and PayPal might throw this error that you are in a merchant account and trying to pay with merchant account and that is wrong. So just switch accounts to solve the issue. PayPal developers account offers multiple sandbox accounts. After checking payment process, for security reasons, you can delete sandbox accounts that were used to test payments.

First we will make payments by using personal sandbox account and then we will add few products in cart and pay by using business sandbox account by using our WordPress and WooCommerce site.
