400m T20 race in just 55.07 seconds! Deepthi Jeevanji set a world record and bagged gold at the World Para Athletics Championships in Japan. She broke the previous record of 55.12 seconds set by Breanna Clark of the US in 2023. The T20 classification is for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Once mocked as a “mentally impaired” child, daughter of daily-wage labourers in Telangana, is now making the country proud.
