Webinar 118: Part I: Safety for Journalists in Conflict Zones

Описание к видео Webinar 118: Part I: Safety for Journalists in Conflict Zones

A training with Abeer Saady, trainer and media specialist in conflict zones

While seasoned war reporters often risk their lives traveling to conflict zones, journalists in countries suddenly faced with crises — such as the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russia — find themselves overnight turned into conflict reporters. This training is for any reporter who wishes to learn the basics of physical security, risk assessment and planning.

Abeer Saady is a war correspondent, researcher, media consultant and trainer specializing in safety and security. She has nearly three decades of professional experience covering conflict and crisis zones in the Middle East. She is joining the ICFJ Pamela Howard Forum on Global Crisis Reporting to give a special two-part training on both safety and ethics when reporting in conflict zones.

We especially encourage journalists and editors based in Ukraine or the surrounding region, as well as budding foreign and war correspondents headed there and to other hostile environments, to please join us.
