Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 - Easy NFS Points Trick

Here you'll learn how to very easily earn NFS points in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 which will make unlocking the cars that require a certain amount of NFS points much easier.

All you have to do is every time your in a circuit race (doesn't work with point-to-point tracks) you have to hit L2 (PS2 controls) at just the right time so that when the game pauses momentarily to circle around your car that your rear wheels are on the start/finish line. Time it right and you'll receive 180,000 NFS points just like that, and you can do this every lap except right at the start of the race when you first take off and on the last lap since the race ends the moment your front wheels touch the finish line once you finish the final lap.

So if you're doing an 8 lap race which is the most laps you can do in a quick race then theoretically you can do this up to 7 times and get a maximum of 1,260,000 NFS points in 1 race plus any other points you earned from say airtime or passing cars at the start. But that would require some impressively consistent timing lap-after-lap. You don't have to do this but this is a little easier to do in a slow car since you'd have more time to react.

Like I said this makes unlocking the cars that require a certain amount of NFS points so much easier. The most you'll ever need to unlock them all is 5,000,000 for the McLaren F1 LM: NFS Edition. I used this trick the moment I started my quest to finish the game 100% right up till I finished it and now I have a massive 16.1 million NFS points, over 3x what I actually needed but of course you can never have too much.

This video will be a huge help to anyone just starting out and wanting to someday unlock all 49 cars in the game without cheats. And don't get me wrong, cheats are fun and I used them for a long time back before I actually tried to complete this game to enjoy all the cars right from the beginning but when you re-load the game the cars you unlocked from the cheats are locked again and you have to re-enter the cheats to get them back which is annoying. But then again, there's 2 other cheats that are actually necessary to finish the game which makes this one of the few games I've ever played where you HAVE to cheat to finish it 100% and unlock all 49 cars.

Those being the cheats to unlock the 31st bonus events for both the "Championship" and “Ultimate Racer" event trees since they can only be unlocked with those cheats and which you have to finish all the events from both event trees including both bonus 31st events (62 events total by that point) to unlock the super bonus 32nd event for the "Championship" event tree and once you win that then you'll finally finish the game 100% and in turn unlock another car.
