Time to put the flame suit on and defend against arrows from people who don't own these amps! HAHA

I've spent some time trying to dial the JP in relatively close to the C+ to do some comparison of the recorded tones. To be (un)fair this C+ is my Coli so it's going to bury the JP, a HRG C+ would be a better test but I'm fresh out. In this sample I'm playing a riff from one of my band TIGHTEN's songs.

For clarity- if I set the knobs the same the amps will not sound the same at all. Also the JP is a more modern & compressed tone. So, one of my goals here was to dial in the JP tone and more importantly the feel in the spirit of a IIC+ which means doing things with the knobs to make it feel as raw & organic "as possible".

I do a lot of talking in the beginning and have a lot of thoughts & opinions in there so check it out. Cliff notes- YES the C+ has better tone, however how it sounds in the bedroom does not equal how it sounds in a recording does not equal how it sounds in a band mix! All that said, I am more impressed by this new JP with the Schumacher transformers that I was by my old early JP, and spoiler alert it actually kicks ass in the band at volume. The bounce & bloom are all there- it's lacking in the feels but not as much as the early JP did. The tone is simply more modern & compressed, but it still sounds & plays like a C+.

What do you think?
