I have the Strymon Big Sky since almost 6 years, and I never tried the Cab Filter function on it... it's crazy... let's change that today!

I tried regular ambient guitar sounds, swells, and crazy distorted reverbs with the cab filter ON and OFF to compare.

It doesn't do much to the cleanest of sounds, but does a big difference once you add gain.

And I was blown away by the very decent sound quality I could get with my board directly into the audio interface, even without the Cab Filter of the Big Sky.

I always assumed that going to straight in the box would be horrible, but it was better than I anticipated.

That being said, I still love the sound and feel of my real amps way more :-)
