Chordplay - Haunted Chords

Описание к видео Chordplay - Haunted Chords

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with Haunted Chords. This lesson focuses on locating, targeting, using, and understanding the dark, eerie, scary, and ominous flavors commonly heard in music. These twisted tonal colors and sounds can be heard in plenty of rock, hard rock, and metal music, but also horror film soundtracks, classical, jazz, fusion, and a wide range of other musical genres and styles.

The various ideas shared, explained, and demonstrated here include the differences between consonance and dissonance in music, the complete breakdown of intervals, dissonant "chord searches" all over the fretboard, targeting/using very dissonant chords, voice leading in music, and much more!

Aside from being the longest video on the Late Night Lessons channel, I literally had a blast putting this one together, as the ideas/sounds targeted and uncovered in this episode truly evoke the sounds of horror films, Halloween, and the month of October itself. These are the ultra-scary elements you hear everywhere in music - from Bach to Buckethead!
