Inside our Victorian Shop

Step back in time....come and see original fixtures, oak counter and till and best of all our museum on the top floor.

In 1910, at the age of 16, Frederick Edgar West Jerome became apprenticed to Mr. Walter Sumpster who had a menswear shop at the top of Union Street, Aldershot where Dunn's menswear shop used to be.

On his return from Russia in 1919, he returned to work for Mr Sumpster and in the same year married Eunice Rubick - only daughter of Mr Willy Rubick - a well known business man in Aldershot. In 1923 when the lease of a shop at 7 Wellington Street owned by Mr Woodruff became available, Mr Rubick, Fredericks' father in law helped purchase the lease from Mr Woodruff and the shop was renamed Edgar Jerome.
