'Bill Haley And His Comets' with "Blue Comet Blues" recorded from the original US 78 rpm shellac record on Decca 30085. "Blue Comet Blues", B-side to "Rudy's Rock", was released in the US in October 1956 with "Rudy's Rock" peaking at Nr. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Chart. The song was recorded on March 27, 1956 at the Pythian Temple in New York City with Bill Haley on rhythm guitar, Franny Beecher on electric lead guitar, Al Rex on double bass, Billy Williamson on steel guitar, Johnny Grande on piano, Rudy Pompilli on tenor saxophone and Ralph Jones on drums. Produced by Milt Gabler. Words and music by Frank Beecher and Al Rex.
