http://www.sportaviationmagazine.com -- The Calidus are a gyro is produced in Germany and important into the United States by autogyrousa.com. It is a tandem seating two seat gyrocopter powered by the Rotax 912 four cylinder, liquid cooled four stroke aircraft engine which supplies 100 horsepower. It can also be powered by the Rotax 914 turbocharged aircraft engine. The propeller is located at the rear of the craft, and that Calidus features a tricycle landing gear, with a steerable knows well.

The Calidus autogyro has a teardrop shaped composite fuselage. The craft has an empty weight of approximately 585 pounds, and a useful load of 408 pounds. Cruise speed comes in at roughly 100 miles per hour, and it has a range of 500 miles. All gyrocopters in the United States after being sold in kit form. The Calidus kit takes approximately 80 hours to complete. The builder does not have to do any fabrication.
