What is Gundam?
It started with the broadcast of Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979. Gundam are a type of weapon called MS (mobile suits) featured throughout the many series of the franchise. Gundam is enjoyed worldwide in various forms of media. The collective name of the series is Gundam.

GUNDAM: THE PINNACLE OF MECHA ANIME
The anime series that began with Mobile Suit Gundam broadcast in 1979 is called the Gundam Series. It is a science fiction work in which a fictional robot Gundam appears.
