Environmental Monitoring Technicians ensure clean rooms are free from contamination by monitoring the viable and non-viable air, surface and personnel through regular sampling of the clean room and personnel in it.

These technicians learn to, not only garb aseptically by donning sterilized goggles, mask, two pairs of gloves, slicks, a white suit with a hood, and shoe covers, but to also collect samples aseptically in the clean room for an extended period of time.

Samples include surfaces, water, and air within the clean room and asses recoveries to evaluate potential risks to the clean room.

Environmental Monitoring Technicians also perform regular documentation and review, as well as data entry and confirmation into sample database.

The essential functions for Environmental Monitoring Technicians include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods of time, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
