Garage heater installation with smart thermostat

I installed a ComfortZone 5000w heater. My approach was to use a contactor and a transformer so that the heater would run off of an external thermostat. I keep the heater set to 5000w and its internal thermostat all the way up. When the Honeywell thermostat calls for heat, the contactor closes and the heater turns on, and vice versa when the thermostat turns heat off.

Also used 10/3 romex, 5 conductor thermostat wire (18ga), and a 6"x6"x4" junction box
