"It's imaging the object of you affections as a really terrifying individual, somebody who has a real darkness to themselves, and is completely unfazed, or would be completely unfazed by the worst possible scenario. It’s painting a picture of a really horrendous event, kind of Revelations type carry-on. Dead people spinning in the ground. The noise of that, the noise of all the dead, that they’re making under your feet. But enjoying that and lying on the ground."

"It’s a love song ‘cause it’s standing in awe of this very terrifying, terrifyingly strong person. But also I wanted to subvert the idea of being in love with somebody and feeling like you must be the protector. It’s ‘You can’t be harmed, and it’s nothing to do with me. This person is just genuinely terrifying,’ and you love them for it."
