Porsche 928 Redesign: Bringing back a legend

Описание к видео Porsche 928 Redesign: Bringing back a legend

When designing the Porsche 928, which went into production in 1978, the focus was on lightweight construction.

Because of this, the doors, front wings and hood were made of aluminium instead of sheet steel.

Behind the plastic bumpers that were beautifully integrated in the body shape even from the early 1978 models, there were also aluminium profiles that could withstand a collision at up to 8 km/h (5 mph) without any visual damage to the car.

In the front, the Porsche 928 was famous for the round pop-up headlights that were integrated in the wings and in the back, the rounded fastback was dominated by the large window of the rear lid.

The greenhouse also had a very unique design with the shape of the B and C-pillars. At the time, this design was considered one of the most beautiful sports cars and I think its proportions look timeless and great today as well.

All Porsche 928 models were powered by a water-cooled V8 engine with a displacement ranging from an initial 4.5 liters in the early models to 5.4 liters.
