Mitsubishi RVR (1997) front strut replace Ft. Tool Girl Jade

Описание к видео Mitsubishi RVR (1997) front strut replace Ft. Tool Girl Jade

After hearing that Tool Girl Jade's Mitsubishi RVR had failed it's WoF (inspection) due to a long list of issues I offered to help. There was no way I could just ignore the fact that she'd been quoted around $2,500 to fix the problems.

Included in the list of fails was a leaking front left strut, an easy job to replace though you do need a set of coil spring compressors to do the job right - fortunately I have a set!

So, Jade embarked on a very long car journey to Auckland so we could fix the car together & have a bit of fun knocking out a few videos along the way!

This video covers the removal of the old strut, removal of the coil spring from the strut, a quick inspection to validate the WoF fail issue & then it's time to transfer the spring & associated parts to the new strut.

Once done it's a relatively quick job installing the new strut to the vehicle.

Jade's tool skills are really coming on well & she is very keen to help with any workshop job bit with this been her own car she's even more eager to get it all fixed and back on the road - making filming a little difficult sometimes so my apologies in advance...

Although this video was done on a Mitsubishi RVR the procedure will be almost identical for the vast majority of modern day front wheel drive cars, basically, if the vehicle is fitted with 'strut' type suspension then this video should go a log way to helping you get to grips with what's going to be involved.
