Miyazaki Dreams of Fire & Water

Hayao Miyazaki is perhaps the most famous name of anime in the world.

The use of the elements is part of the characteristics in his movies, and how these elements coexist with humanity. Sometimes bringing help and sometimes bringing destruction.

I took the inspiration and concept from Kogonada, who made a beautiful video of the elements of fire and water in the films of Terrence Malick.

Making this video gave me an insight of the drawing process in this movies, and all the parallels and contrasts you can find in Miyazaki’s films.

This is just a little part of the dreams of Hayao Miyazaki.
