Aptima virology: Global Leadership in Viral Load Testing (HIV, HCV, HBV)

The Hologic Aptima® Virology portfolio is a group of 3 FDA-approved, viral load assays: HIV-1, HCV, and HBV, all employing real-time transcription-mediated amplification (RT-TMA). The Aptima® HIV-1 Quant Dx assay is a dual-claim assay that confirms HIV-1 infection and measures viral load. The Aptima® HCV Quant Dx assay also has a dual claim for the detection and quantitation of HCV RNA as an aid in the diagnosis of active HCV infections and the clinical management of HCV infected patients. The Aptima® HBV Quant assay uses a unique assay design that allows laboratories to deliver trusted results from baseline through treatment despite low or high viral loads. All 4 viral load Aptima assays run on the fully automated Panther® system, delivering fast, accurate quantitation with a small footprint, minimal consumables, and low hands-on time for processing.
