Have you suffered from childhood sexual abuse? If so, you are not alone. As I share my story in this video, 1 out of every 4 young girls will experience childhood sexual abuse before the age of 18. 90% of them will be abused by someone they know and trust- over 40% of those by an immediate family member.

I've kept my experience hidden my entire life and protected my abuser. I minimized my pain and suffering and convinced myself I was ok. That was until later in life, a few years ago, my body started telling me "enough is enough". There's a great book called The Body Keeps The Score (https://amzn.to/40jfCT0) that talks in depth about how childhood trauma affects you physically if you keep ignoring it and not dealing with it-- that certainly happened to me.

I abruptly began experiencing chronic migraines-- you've seen me talk about them on my channel here in past years. I had no idea what was causing them. It turned out- I learned later- I had C-PTSD and the migraines were directly tied to my childhood trauma.

All of this led to a series of actions and events that ultimately led me to founding my new nonprofit, NOW SHE'S SAFE. https://nowshessafe.org/ Once I had discovered that I wasn't alone, that there are nearly 43 million other female survivors of childhood sexual trauma in the US - and that 1 in 4 little girls are being abused every day-- I had to do something.

I have every confidence that we are creating a movement that is going to change EVERYTHING. This issue is ALL OF OURS. If you aren't a survivor-- YOU KNOW ONE and probably many. And those women need your help!! Further, consider the young girls around you, even if you don't have kids of your own. One out of every four homes has a young girl being victimized like I was - and she doesn't know where to turn or who to talk to or how to make it stop.
