𝗕𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝘂𝗱𝗿𝗮's solo exhibition, featuring his latest 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲-𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀, offers an expanded view of nocturnal forest landscapes. Traditionally, moonlit scenes evoke idyllic rural life and the artist's appreciation of nature, romance, myth, and spirituality. However, ‘𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀’ delves into contemporary issues such as violence, trespass, and survival within these landscapes. Unlike the analytical approach of modern landscape art, Rudra's romantic depictions evoke deep emotions and drama. Through scenic beauty, they reveal grim truths, using metaphors like the crescent moon resembling an elephant's tusk to address anti-poaching themes.

Bholananth Rudra is undoubtedly the most potent Indian painter working in watercolour today. His work is rich in tonality and texture - reminiscent of Abanindranath Tagore and Samuel Palmer. The artist’s recent watercolour paintings combine visual pleasure with critical content, using the sublime beauty of glowing moons to evoke empathy and reflection.
