Dr. Rhonda Low, a physician in Executive Health and Preventive Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, shares her article appearing in the March 2019 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, which compared data of patients taking gabapentin for another condition who developed shingles with a matched cohort of patients who were not taking gabapentin who also developed shingles and found as much as an 80% reduction in the risk of pain from shingles.
