"Vets in Tech" Full Video: Supporting military veterans to get into IT - Parallel Consulting 2022

This Remembrance Day, Parallel Consulting has chosen to spark a conversation about why we should care about getting army veterans into the IT industry in our latest “Talk with Us / Work with Us” series – “Vets in Tech”.

In honour of Remembrance Day here is the final, full interview between our own Oliver Davies who is Army reservist and a military veteran for the Belgium Army, Bram, Defense & Intelligence Leader, Western Europe for Microsoft.

Here, they discuss their passion in encouraging more military veterans to get into IT, the role we as recruiters play in supporting veterans in their transition back to 'civvy' life and the workplace, why military veterans remain an “untapped pool of talent” for the tech world and much more.


We are honoured to participate in this conversation and are extremely thankful to Bram for taking the time to sit down with us and shedding a light on what can be done to support veterans going into the IT industry.

About our speakers:

Oliver Davies is a Senior Recruiter on our European Contracts team. Having left the army at 18 years old, he is now a reserve army officer and is extremely passionate about supporting veterans in their return to civilian life.

Bram Couwberghs is the Defense & Intelligence Leader of Western Europe for Microsoft, but his wealth of knowledge is not restricted solely to his industry knowledge. His military background and his passion for working with ex-military servicemen, both in and out of his place of work, has made him the perfect person to kick start a conversation in our "Talk to Us / Work with Us: Vets in Tech" series.
