This is the scene after Walter has lost all of his father's insurance money when his "friend" Willy Harris takes off with the 6300$ that was supposed to go to Beneatha's education, their new house, and Walter's liquor store start up. Here, he is deciding to take the money from Lindman, the leader of the housing community that they had been trying to move in. It is a white neighborhood and they had wanted to keep it that way. Here, Walter explains why he is going to take the money for the house back and stay out of the neighborhood.
