A quick evolution of the american soldier in the 19th century. Honestly I love the aesthetics of the post civil war and frontier look. The union blue and the hats are just iconic. The US is also the first country to fight a real industrial war : the civil war, which became a war of attrition and was won by northern numbers and industry despite the south having better leadership and winning decisive early victories. Overall the US uniforms just feel more "modern" than those of their european contemporaries but it's probably because America influenced modern fashion the most and we all switched to wearing jeans.

Images were made with Google Nano Banana Pro after an in depth researched prompt on my side first. I tried to get all the weapon/uniform details as accurately portrayed as possible but there are always some creative liberties wherever things are less clear cut.
