SIDI IFNI Morocco, Moroccan Travel from Legzira

Описание к видео SIDI IFNI Morocco, Moroccan Travel from Legzira

Sidi Ifni, Morocco is a relaxed place south of Agadir. We travel here for the day of Legzira beach to learn about Sidi Ifni and Moroccan history. We were grateful to have subscriber Mostafa and his friend as tour guides in this Moroccan city. We arrive at the bus station of Sidi Ifni and head toward Plaza España for a view of the Atlantic Ocean.

We walk around and see the old Spanish Consulate in Sidi Ifni. The buildings are of Spanish style, and they remind me of Spanish missions in the south west of the United States.I learned that in 1969 Spain relinquished control of Sidi Ifni to Morocco. This was after Moroccan independence from France. This marks Sidi Ifni with Spanish influences, the older generations speak Spanish, while the younger generations speak Moroccan dialect, french, and English. There is a memorial to those fallen in Moroccan war in the struggle for freedom.

After we head to the port of Sidi Ifni to explore the main industry of the city, fishing. Fishing in Morocco is practiced along the coast, but Sidi Ifni boasts a protected harbor comleted in the year 2000. Each massive jack was one thousand euro, but it is efficient in protecting the sardine fishing boats. We were advised to not eat sardines at this time of the year because it was not sardine season. In winter, the sardines are said to have too many eggs, so summer is better.

We eat some Moroccan rotisserie chicken and head to Taghua to see a secret rock arch. Taghua beach was hard for me to find on the internet, luckily Mohamed knew the spot very well. Subscriber "Algeria Family" pointed us in this direction so thank you for that. This beach, not far from Legzira, holds a second arch that I had not heard about. It is known in 2018 one of the arches collapsed, but two still remain. Legzira arch and the arch closer to Sidi Ifni.

We head back to Sidi Ifni to see people surf in Sidi Ifni. At the beach, I introduce Mostafa to Acroyoga to provide some relief for his back pain. The beach was uncrowded and the campgrounds of Sidi Ifni were empty. So was the Suerte Loca Hotel of Sidi Ifni. We head back to Legzira for the sunset and say goodbye. A BIG THANK YOU to Mostafa and Mohammed!

I hope you have enjoyed our journey from Agadir, Tiznit, Mirleft, Legzira, and now Sidi Ifni. In the next episode we will travel to Guelmim for a surprise.
