Build an Interactive Excel Dashboard in just 15 minutes. In this video, we will build an automated excel dashboard from scratch using a sample data which you can download for free. First, we prepare the overall structure of our dashboard by removing the gridlines and choosing a color for our base. Then we will outline the overall structure of the dashboard using Shapes. This video showed the different ways to customize Shapes, such as how to add a Shadow. Next, we create charts as our visualizations – combo chart for Actual vs Target Sales per month, which contains a column and line chart, smoothened line chart for Units Sold per month, and advanced Bar Chart for Top 5 Products. The video showed how the step by step creation of charts from raw data – creating a PivotTable, adding a Pivot Chart, filtering the PivotTable table to Top N values, and how to use a Calculated Field. The video covered all the essential skills you need to build an Interactive Dashboard from raw data / scratch. We also connect our metrics using text box, the formula bar, and the metric value on our pivot tables. It is also shown how to fix a formula error when you encounter one. After setting up all the charts and visualizations, we customize them. The video showed how to remove field buttons from the chart, how to adjust the size or gap width of the column, bar, and pie chart, how to smoothen a line chart, etc. Finally, we add slicers. The slicers make our dashboard automated by providing buttons that we can click to filter data at once. The video also showed how to fix slicers if not all charts are refreshing.
