Train Sim World Expands with West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle Route Add-On

Fans of Train Sim World in the UK can soon experience one of the game's longest and most scenic journeys with the release of the West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle route Add-On. Spanning nearly 100 miles, the route captures the stunning landscapes of northwest England, including Shap Summit, situated 279 meters above sea level. The Add-On also includes Lancaster and the Morecambe Branch Line for a comprehensive exploration of the era.

Set in the late 1980s, the Add-On meticulously recreates iconic stations such as Preston, Lancaster, and Carlisle, along with the M6 Motorway, complete with retro traffic. Developed by Just Trains, the route highlights the British Rail Blue era, featuring a lineup of locomotives, including the newly introduced Class 87, as well as the Class 47, 08, and 101 DMU.

The Add-On offers a varied timetable of carriages and wagons, allowing players to operate multiple types of trains. For those with additional compatible Add-Ons, classic diesels like the Class 45 or steam legends such as the Flying Scotsman can be added to enhance the experience.

Unique features include collectible mint cakes and posters, fully modeled signal box interiors, and updated Class 101 DMU suspension physics. Core Train Sim World 5 features like Conductor Mode, Fast Travel, and Route Hopping are also included, providing a dynamic and immersive railway experience.
