IIT Delhi has signed an MoU with the Central Water Commission (CWC), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, to collaborate on the application of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) in water resources management.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi, and Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sinha, Chairman, CWC.

The collaboration will advance work in:
✅ Hydro-informatics tools
✅ Flood and irrigation management
✅ River basin planning & environmental flows
✅ Water quality analysis
✅ Structural design using modern software

It also includes:
🎓 Internships for IIT Delhi students at CWC offices
🎓 PhD enrolment opportunities for CWC officers at IIT Delhi
📘 Academic modules by CWC experts
🔬 Collaborative research & joint training programs

📢 Dr. Sinha noted that the collaboration will drive innovation and real-world applications. Prof. Banerjee emphasized its role in developing sustainable water solutions.
