Lone Survivor and the Failed Operation Red Wings | What Really Happened?

The book and movie Lone Survivor put Navy SEALs and Operation Red Wings in the national spotlight. Although portrayed as a Navy SEAL mission, Red Wings was a Marine Corps operation that brought in the SEALs to secure the air assets they requested. The Marines cautioned the 4 man Navy SEAL reconnaissance element that they should bring more manpower but were ignored.
