Our journal EStAL - European State Aid Law Quarterly was established in 2002 as the first pan-European publication for State aid law and is still recognized as the leading journal in its field today. EStAL’s successful philosophy is to serve as a forum for open dialogue and reflection on State aid law and policy for and between academics, judges, Commission and Member States officials and private practitioners. This philosophy shows in the composition of the editorial board and translates to the selection of authors and commentators and EStAL’s circle of readers in particular. EStAL accordingly offers a balanced mix of high-quality legal analysis, concise information and pointed opinion pieces on State aid law and policy from diverse backgrounds to the benefit of all those dealing with State aid issues on a regular basis.

StateAidHub.eu was launched in 2014 by Lexxion Publisher. It is the only website that provides free access to State aid news, events, articles, judgments, opinions, and discussions. It also includes Professor Phedon Nicolaides' blog State Aid Uncovered and a section for guest bloggers. Join our State aid debate!

Lexxion’s State aid events offer the opportunity to meet high-level experts and engage with the European community to exchange best practices and disseminate knowledge on highest standards. Participants enjoy direct contact to the speakers and are interactively involved in all sessions. Presentations, group exercises and case studies provide a comprehensive analysis.

Law European State Aid Law Institute (EStALI) was founded in 2002 to offer a platform to discuss the latest developments with the most acknowledged experts from the European Commission, European Court of Justice, Member States’ authorities, academia and legal practice. Every year we organise two EStALI events:

Furthermore Lexxion offers small-scale intensive trainings for public officials and legal experts. All trainings are developed and chaired by our Academic Director Phedon Nicolaides, Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges and at the University of Maastricht.


WHO IS PHEDON NICOLAIDES?

Phedon Nicolaides is Professor at Maastricht University and holds also the Jan Tinbergen Chair for European Economics at the College of Europe. He was educated in the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. He obtained a PhD in economics and a PhD in law.

He previously held academic positions at the London Business School, the Royal Institute of International Affairs (London) and the European Institute of Public Administration (Maastricht).

Professor Nicolaides also gained experience in government as Minister Plenipotentiary in the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the private sector as Secretary General of the Cyprus Shipping Council. Furthermore, he is academic director at Lexxion training and joins numerous of our events as organiser and speaker.
