THE ADDAMS FAMILY (1964) Cast: THEN and NOW [58 Years After]

Based on Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons, The Addams Family is a macabre/black comedy sitcom produced in the United States. The anonymous characters from the single-panel humour cartoons were given names, backstories, and a domestic setting in the 30-minute television series. David Levy, Donald Saltzman, and cartoonist Charles Addams collaborated to establish and develop the series, and it was they who took the initiative to give each character their first names and descriptions. The series, which had 64 episodes over two seasons on ABC from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, was shot in black and white. Vic Mizzy wrote and sang the theme song for the first episode of the show.
