Oxford United faced another relegation 6 pointer today, and once again came out on top. Arguably this was their most comfortable game of the season. It may also be Wayne Rooney's final game as Plymouth Argyle boss. It finished at the Kassam Stadium Oxford United 2-0 Plymouth Argyle. Please enjoy my review of this Sky Bet Championship game.

After a fine win over Cardiff City on Boxing Day, Gary Rowett's Oxford side faced bottom of the table Plymouth Argyle. The Pilgrims have been borderline useless away from home this season, and Oxford took full advantage to end 2024 on a high and give their EFL Championship hopes another massive shot in the arm. It felt plain sailing all the way through. Ciaron Brown scored and Early Header and Przemysław Płacheta continued his good form with the second on the hour mark. The Green Army sung for Wayne Rooney's head for most of the game, whilst Oxford can look onto 2025 with a decent chance of survival.
