Ruben Kruger was arguably the greatest flank to ever play for South Africa. He wasn't always in the headlines and some other players may have featured more than he did, but the fact remains that he was one of the hardest and most consistent rugby players in the history of South African rugby.

He was voted as South Africa's player of the year in 1995 and if he didn't struggle with injury during the latter part of his career, he would have gone on to play well over 50 tests for the Springboks.
