This is the second film created by Grey, with music by SoundAdvice.ch, for the launch of Downy softeners across Africa and the Middle East. After both client and agency loved the soundtrack created by SoundAdvice for the first film, we were asked to also soundtrack the second one. The mood was very much the same as the first ad - intimate, authentic, tender and childlike, with the brand again portrayed as a catalyst of the love between mum and child. The script however was very different, with the first film's vignettes replaced with the continued story of one day in the life of a child - and how the scent of Downy reminds him of Mum's love right at the moment when he needs his courage to perform in front of his class. We therefore created a different arrangement of the signature tune created for the first film, which stays true to the character of the brand while supporting the film's unique story - with more dynamic contrast and "suspense", and richer instrumentation underlining the little boy's "triumph".
