“I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” {Psalm 18:3} Heavenly Father, These past few weeks have felt as though the cords of death have encompassed me; the torrents of destruction have assailed me. My greatest fears have come to pass, and I now stand in the shadow of the cross, pleading for Your mercy and grace to overwhelm me. Father, there are moments each day when I do not know what to do. How do I overcome the challenges I face? How do I avoid letting fear and anger rise and take my mind hostage? Father, I am reminded of Your Holy Word this morning. In my distress, I am calling and crying out for Your help. Your Word says You will hear from Your temple. Please intervene and help me dispel the thoughts that are not of You. Help me focus on the thoughts that will praise and honor Your name now. Father, please rescue me from on high and draw me out of the pit of fear and anger I feel in this moment. Please rescue me from my enemies, those who are against me and who are too mighty to overcome. The Lord lives; blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation. In Jesus’ Name.
