Splitting pond iris’s

Welcome back!!
Today small and easy job was to simply split one of my pond irises. This making 2 plants out of one so effectively a free pond plant!!
By doing this is giving me another plant to move around the pond but it will also give them the chance to grow bigger again so in a few years time I can repeat this process and make more!
It’s a easy job todo and with good results.
By keeping pond plants within the ponds this will help with blanket weed, but staving the pond of the nitrates the blanket weed need by putting strong plants in it helps it’s not a 100% cure but ever little helps.
So as I said I got my pond baskets from maidenhead, Aquatics, my local shops is situated within Wisbey Garden Centre,

The garden centre it’s self is a little hidden gem with a lake side café offering hot food, home-made cakes general teas and coffee and who doesn’t love a slice of cake and a cup of tea (aunt Sally who remembers that?)
