I demonstrate how to set up an on-off heater control circuit using a smart relay. I created a miniaturized heating circuit using inexpensive commonly available components. The heating circuit allows the setpoint to be adjusted. Also, differential temperature control is setup. Differential control prevents short cycling of heating and cooling systems. Short cycling wastes energy and shortens the life of equipment. The miniaturized heating system is demonstrated on our SRT100 DAI+ Smart Relay / PLC Trainer, used in Schools and Colleges.
